On April 11, 2014 Thekla Maria Fitzpatrick devoted daughter of the late George Wheeler Fitzpatrick, Jr. and Johanna Thekla (nee Ebentheuer) Fitzpatrick; loving aunt of Marianne Lawler, Debbie Menges, Eileen Barrett and Sharon Sheridan. Thekla graduated in 1945 from the Calvert School and Bryn Mawr School in 1951; she was the head of student government, played hockey, basketball, lacrosse and tennis, she later graduated from Wheaton College in Massachusettes in 1955 with a B.A. degree, her major being French, she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa OBK and graduated Magna cum laude, she then attended Middlebury College, was a French major. She lived in France for 1 year in Sorbonne and received a Master’s degree in French. She taught ESOL “English for Speaker’s of other Language” for about 10 years and also taught French at BYKOTA “Be ye kind one to another” Senior Center.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 25, 2014 at 11:00am at the Pickersgill Retirement Community 615 Chestnut Avenue Towson, Maryland 21204. Interment private. If desired memorial contributions may be made to ASPCA 424 East 92nd Street New York, NY 10128 or the Pickersgill Retirement Community Benevolent Fund www.pickersgillretirement.org
