Obituary for John James Bast

On August 20, 2014, John J. Bast, beloved husband of the late Mae A. Bast (nee Hawkins), devoted father of the late John L. Bast (Jack); survived by his daughter-in-law Janet R. Bast, two grandchildren Janeane B. Simon and Jacklyn L. Borkman, three great grandchildren Tyler John Borkman, Grace Mae Borkman and Jack Wallace Simon.

John (Pop Pop, Uncle John, Pop) was a wonderful and loving family member to so many, Francis and the late Dick Hawkins, the late Gilbert and Marie Kreisel, the late Wilhelmina and Arthur Weinreich, the late Howard and Marie Hawkins, the late Margaret Sperato, Lois and Fred Volz, Buzz and the late Audrey Robinson, and Herb and Shirley Weinreich, John and Lynne Hawkins, Ray and Lynn Hawkins, Donna and Joe Mills, Kathy and Steve Sykes, David and Melony Weinreich, and Doug and Sandy Weinreich, Charlotte and Ted Roux, Andy and Kris Volz, Ed and Jill Volz, Joe and Brian Mills, Katie and Christy Sykes, Austin and Grant Weinreich, Emma Volz, Alexandra Wilmot, Jacob Volz, and Kevin and Kelly Hawkins, and many more family and friends.

Donations in his honor can be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 7910 Belair Road, Baltimore, MD 21236. The funds will benefit the Fellowship Hall Renovation / Restoration project.

The family will receive friends at the Lassahn Funeral Home, Inc., 7401 Belair Road (Overlea) on Saturday, August 23. 2014, and Sunday, August 24, 2014, 2-4 & 7-9 PM. A funeral service will be held at St. Peter Lutheran Church on Monday, August 25, 2014, at 11:00 AM. Interment St. Peter Lutheran Church Cemetery
