James Ansel  Lawson
On November 19, 2014 James A. Lawson, born January 6, 1923 to Samuel A. and Goldie Willey in Griffiths Neck. He attended Vienna High School. He later joined the armed forces serving in the Army from 1943-1951 and is a veteran of WW II and the Korean War. He married Junetta M. Elliot and had 3 girls, Janice Ross of Salisbury, Sharon Miller of Parsonsburg and Bobbi Miller of Rhome, Texas. He later remarried to Zelda Jean Kern from Baltimore. He is a 32nd degree Mason in the Shriner’s and a member of the Shriner’s Marching Band, retired from Sears of Cambridge and Baltimore as a service technician for 35 years; he is the loving grandfather of Leslie Baker, Christine Hubbard, Heather Towers, Renee Windsor, Zebulan Ross, Jason Miller and Dee Lila Miller; cherished great grandfather of 11 great grandchildren; dear brother of Danelle MacWaters, Carol Lorraine Tyler, Nancy Alley and the late Frances Bell, Dorothy Taylor, Walter Lawson, Samuel Lawson of Easton, Wilfred Lawson of Vienna and Thomas Lawson of Texas; he is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and his beloved cat, Puddy.
The family will receive friends at the Lassahn Funeral Home, Inc. 7401 Belair Rd. (Overlea) on Monday, November 24, 2014 from 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at 1pm. Interment Parkwood Cemetery. If desired memorial contributions may be made to the ASPCA.
