Obituary for Eleanore Ruth Gebler (Dietz)








Eleanore Ruth Dietz Gebler, 93, of Kingsville, who was born in Fallston, Maryland on April 19, 1921 died April 16, 2015. She was the daughter of the late Andew Jackson Levering Dietz and the late Florence Dietz of Hydes, MD.

She attended Fallston Elementary School and graduated from Bel Air High School in 1938. She graduated Towson State Teacher's College and also received a Master's Degree from Towson State Teacher's College.
She retired after serving as an elementary teacher at Bel Air Elementary School in Harford County and at Perry Hall Elementary and Gunpowder Elementary in Baltimore County
Over the years, she as a member for 50 years in the Harford Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, where she attained the position of Worthy Matron in 1959. She also was a Council Member for local chapters of the Job's Daughter and Order of DeMolay
Mrs. Gebler also assumed a variety of lay leadership positions at St. John's Episcopal Church in Kingsville, where she was baptized, confirmed, and married. She taught Sunday School, served as Senoir Wardon and directed the annual Easter Pageant and coordinated a variety of fundraiser programs. For several years, she served as a judge for Kingsville's annual Fourth of July Parade.
In 1979, she was instrumental in bringing the Cursillo spiritual renewal movement within the Episcopal Diocese of Maryland. She also assisted in conducting numerous Cursillo retreats held within the diocese.
She was preceded in death by her husband whom she married on March 3, 1943. She is survived by her sister, Sarah Joan Dalton of NaplesFla. She was preceded in death by her brother Ernest Walton Dietz; sister , Estelle Virginia Dietz; brother Lewis Mitchell Dietz; brother; Jackson Levering Dietz; and brother, Charles Phillip Dietz.
Mrs. Gebler is also survived by her son, Arnold F. Gebler, III, Eleanor Jane Ward; daughter, Peggie Arlene Dietz; daughter Nanci Graves Rosendale; and son Garl Karl Gebler, as well as eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at the E.F. Lassahn Funeral Home, 11750 Belair Rd., Kingsville, MD., Monday, April 20, 2015 from 2-4 & 7-9 MD. Funeral services will be held at St. John's Episcopal Church, 11901 Belair Rd. in Kingsville Tuesday, April 21, at 10:00 AM.
