Message to the Family: You would think that having your Dad live for 91 years you would be prepared or at least somewhat ready when he passes from this world, but it doesn't work that way. Dad, I miss you so very much already. I miss the things that made me laugh just as much as the things that made me roll my eyes, like you telling me how to drive (despite the fact that I have driven for over 46 years). Parental relationships are complicated and I am just now beginning to understand some of the gifts you have given to me. Please know that I am ever thankful for all of them as they are essential for my own life's journey. Most important of all, I am thankful beyond words for the big, beautiful family that you have left for me. It is a blessing and comfort beyond words to be surrounded by the love and care of so many crazy, awesome people. You have truly left this world a better place.
