On October 18, 2017, Russell O. Beard, Jr., 95 years old, one of the greatest generation, WW II veteran; fought on Iwo Jima in the Marine Corps; recipient of the Purple Heart; beloved husband of the late Evelyn Beard,(nee Mettam); devoted father of Carole M. Butler, the late Russell Beard, III and Gary W. Beard; loving grandfather of Sherrie, Cheryl, Russell, IV, Brenda, Gregory, Pamela and Gary, Jr. dear great-grandfather of Joe, Maria, Jennie, Jamie, Nick, Chelsea, Heather, Aubrey and Ben; great-great-grandfather of Miles.
Funeral services will be held at the Lassahn Funeral Home,Inc. in Overlea, 7401 Belair Road on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at 11:00 AM. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, October 23, 2017 from 1-4pm and 6-9pm. Entombment will be in Moreland Memorial Park Cemetery.
