On June 13, 2022, Frederick Nelson Crouse passed away due to a recent illness. He was the beloved husband of Mary M. Byrne-Crouse; devoted father of Charles Crouse and Elizabeth Crouse; loving son of the late Charles Crouse and the late Julia (nee Sieling) Crouse; dear brother of Carrie Melka and her husband Paul and the late Joy Crouse; cherished son-in-law of Elizabeth Byrne and the late Michael Byrne; dear brother-in-law of Terence Byrne, Elizabeth Byrne, Valerie Reynolds, Liam Byrne, Regina Byrne, and Michael Byrne. He is also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews and friends, including Carrie’s children Bryan and Julia.
Frederick was born and raised in Overlea-Fullerton; was a member of two churches and was baptized at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church and graduated in 1979 from Perry Hall High School. He continued his studies at CCBC and became a certified network engineer working in the field for 25 years. Frederick was an avid cat lover, a passionate reader with a love for poetry, literature and history, and a lover of old-time music, his favorite instrument being the banjo. He was an outgoing conversationalist who enjoyed the outdoors and local culture, loved seafood, and loved shucking oysters for the entire family every holiday. He was adamant about organ donation and has become a corneal donor.
The family will receive friends at the Lassahn Funeral Home, Inc. 7401 Belair Road in Overlea on Sunday, June 19, 2022 from 1-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, June 20, 2022 at 1:30pm. Interment Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to BARCS (www.barcs.org) or the Heart Institute of University of Maryland Medical Center (www.umms.org/sjmc/giving/donation-form).
