Obituary for June Rosalie Geyer (Hoskins)

June Rosalie Geyer(Nee Hoskins), 93, passed away peacefully on May19th, 2022, in her home surrounded by her family with love. June was born on June 1st, 1928 in Baltimore City to Leona (nee Frostburg) and Robert Hoskins. She was the youngest of four children; Robert Jr, Dorothy Maynard, and Virginia “Sis” Jankiewicz. June graduated from Patterson Park High School 1946. After graduation she worked at General Motors from 1946 to1952, and after that stayed home to raise her two children. She married Charles E. Geyer, Sr. on September 14th, 1947 in Baltimore Md. They were happily married for 73 years. She taught 5th grade Sunday School at St. Peters Lutheran Church, where she also served on the Church Council and School Board for many years. June especially loved to nurture and encourage children’s faith in God. She returned to work at Maryland National Bank in 1972. June and Charles enjoyed traveling to the far reaches of Japan, Hawaii, Guam and Europe. Their travels often included a cruise. Family vacations and Atlantic City were also favorite destinations. June was always looking for sunshine, yet she was the sunshine to so many people. She had the ability to invoke helpless laughter and brought joy to everyone who met her. Singing and dancing was a favorite pastime. She could heal with a hug and made everyone who crossed her path feel like family. She was a mother to so many people. June loved the Lord and lived a very blessed life offering gratitude to God for those blessings which were always cherished in her heart.

June was the devoted mother of Charles (Chuck) E. Geyer, Jr., his wife Rhonda; Sandra (Sandy), and son in law Kenneth Hart. She was the loving grandmother of Tricia Wessler (husband Jacob), Christy Williams (husband Karl), Kenneth(Chip)Hart (Wife Alissa), Sue Hart (husband Everett), Charles E. Geyer III (wife Dorri), Michael Geyer(wife Michelle Lindsey), Amanda Pirrera (husband Stephen). She adored her great grandchildren Emily, Grace, and Zachary Williams; Abbi and Ellie Wessler; Charles and Maxwell Hart; Geneva and Layla Geyer; Elizabeth and baby Hart Wheeler; and LandonPirrera. June was also very much loved and supported by Nancy and Bob Sumpter.

Visiting at the Lassahn Funeral Home, Inc. 7401 Belair Road in Overlea on Friday May 27, 2022, from 6:00pm-8:00pm. Further visitation will be held at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church on Saturday, May 28, 2022, from 11:30am-12:30pm at which time the funeral service will begin at 12:30pm. Interment Gardens of Faith Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be offered in lieu of flowers to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church , 7910 Belair Road Nottingham, MD., 21236 (410-665-7300).
