Mary Lu was such a wonderful woman. Of all my close friend's mothers she was my favorite. She made you feel comfortable and part of the family from the moment you met her. I'll never forget making thanksgiving dinner with Laurie and Mary Lu in Laurie's tiny apartment kitchen. There was maybe a total of 6 square feet of counter space so we each had our assigned "stations". Whenever someone would wander out of their stations they were chided, in the friendliest way, to stay in their station! Even though she could cook circles around us Mary Lu went along with our silliness. Another favorite memory is when I smuggled Mary Lu and her sister, Judy to my house in Colorado the day before Laurie's surprise baby shower. I had such a wonderful time hanging out with Mary Lu and Judy. Mary Lu fell in love with my dog, Brie and put up with her crazy giant poodle antics.

But above all, Mary Lu loved her family You can see the love for her family in the photographs. They way she looks at her children and grandchildren is pure love and makes my heart melt. And how she cared for so many family members and and other souls in need of care over the years. I'm so grateful that Laurie, Michael, Cooper and Griffin had the joy to spend so much time with Mary Lu in Montana these past few years. Know that she will be with you always - she's not the type of person you forget. Rest in Peace, Mary Lu and much love to the Bohlen and White families during this difficult time.

Oh my- Mary Lu- what a spectacular woman! All whose lives she touched are really blessed, as she was an incredible mom, grandmom and friend to so many of us, even those who were not in her immediate family. Rarely has one of my friends' moms touched me the way she did. Her good humor and warmth taught me so much. God Speed! AND--we miss you so!
