Obituary for Robert D. "Bob" Weinreich

Robert “Bob” D. Weinreich, passed away on Wednesday, July 7, 2021. He was born in Baltimore to Robert D. and Doris (nee Hennick) Weinreich. After graduating from Baltimore City College high school, Bob enlisted in the United States Navy. He was initially stationed in Patuxent, Maryland, but was subsequently deployed to serve on a Naval repair ship during the Vietnam War. After being honorably discharged, he returned to Baltimore and worked for Western Electric for 10 years. He married the love of his life, Linda Thompson, on June 24, 1972. Together they have two children, Jaclyn and Candace. In 1982, Bob was hired as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service, where he received commendation for exceptional service. Bob will be remembered for his jovial demeaner; his commitment to the church; his love for strategy games, cards, bowling, golfing, TV and movies; his loyalty to the Orioles, Ravens and the Maryland Terrapins; and above all, his love and pride for his wife, children, and grandchildren, who will lovingly remember him as Bobby D, Dad, and Poppop.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife, Linda; his daughter, Jaclyn Wahlers and her husband Christopher; his daughter Candace Knott and her husband Kevin; his grandchildren, Brendan, Liana, Greta, Bryan and Chloe; his brother Leroy Weinreich and his wife Leslie; his brother-in-law Eric Thompson and his wife Pamela; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the Lassahn Funeral Home, Inc. 7401 Belair Road in Overlea on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 from 6pm-8pm. Further visitation will be held at Calvary Lutheran Church 2625 E. Northern Parkway in Baltimore on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 from 10:30am until 11:00am, at which time funeral services will begin. Interment at the cemetery is for family only. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Lutheran Church.
