Albert R. Anglin, Sr.

Albert R. Anglin Sr.(Born November 2, 1922) passed away on November 12, 2011. Beloved husband of Hazel Anglin; devoted father of Albert R Anglin Jr. and his wife Janice and his late son Scott E. Anglin; and loving grandfather of Elise and Anissa.

In 1941 at the age of 19 he enlisted in the U. S. Navy air corps to train as a carrier fighter pilot. In 1945 he was a member of the assembled force on the west coast and was to be part of the air assault and invasion of Japan when the war ended.

He returned home to attend the University of Delaware. In four years he obtained 2 Bachelors and a Masters degree in bacteriology. Having completed much of the original studies of a new antibiotic for the Pfizer Corporation, he was hired and moved to Baltimore to market the new drug to the medical community.

He later opened his own business which after 20 years he sold in 1988 and retired to become a full time Grandfather and continue to pursue his passion for flying. He and his wife of 59 years flew his personal airplane all over the country for 40 years until last year when his health prohibited.

He was laid to rest on November 17, 2011 in Gracelawn Memorial Park Cemetery, in New Castle, DE, with his son Scott and his Mother Clara.
