On April 25, 2025, Alice Madolyn (nee Ackess Williamson) Smith peacefully passed away, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories. Alice was the beloved wife of the late Thomas Smith and a devoted, loving mother to Johnny Palma and his wife Sharon, Lisa Howard and her husband John, and Joy Smith. She was a proud and adoring grandmother to Alaina Howard, Gino Palma, and Angelo Palma.
Alice was preceded in death by her devoted parents, Roger Edward Williamson and Sue Virginia (nee Ackess) Williamson, as well as her dear Aunt Abby Cook, who held a special place in her heart.
A spirited and joyful soul, Alice found happiness in dancing and spending time by the ocean or on the beach, where she felt at peace. Her deep compassion extended to all living things, especially animals. She lovingly cared for a nearby feral cat colony, providing them with food and shelter, embodying her nurturing spirit. Alice also treasured gathering with family and friends, enjoying good conversation and sharing delicious meals.
Funeral services and interment will be held privately.
In honor of Alice’s lifelong love for animals, memorial contributions may be made to the Maryland SPCA (www.mdspca.org).
The family is deeply grateful for the prayers, love, and support extended to them during this difficult time. Alice's beautiful spirit, warm heart, and joyful memories will forever live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
