Ann Crostic (nee Jagielski), beloved wife of the late Thomas “Tom” Crostic, passed away on October 14, surrounded by her children. Ann was a devoted, endlessly giving mother to Christopher Crostic and his wife Sarah, and to Kathleen Crostic, as well as a loving grandmother to Jacob and Wyatt Crostic.

Born to the late Melvin Jagielski and Patricia F. (née Mouery) Jagielski. She was a dear sister to Kathleen Powell, Mitchell Jagielski (Mary Clare), the late Paul Jagielski, and Tony Jagielski; and aunt of numerous loving nieces and nephews.

She was a graduate of the Maryland Institute College of Art where she had the pleasure of recently returning for open figure sessions. Ann’s life was filled with beauty, whether it was in the way she loved her husband and family, or the way she wielded a brush, painting “plein air” style landscapes. In Ann’s own words, “Painting on location the plein air artist has an opportunity to experience much more than just what is seen.” Just like her artwork, her life was much more than what was seen.

Ann was deeply in love with her husband, Tom, of 46 years, with whom she enjoyed traveling in their camper, fondly called “Tranquility Base,” taking in stunning views and making memories from Virginia up to Maine. She reinvested in herself as an artist after retiring from Towson University in 2017, winning awards and distinctions throughout the region. She took great pride in her artwork, but her greatest creation was her family. She was an endlessly devoted mother to her “kiddos,” a role that blossomed over the years into a cherished friendship.

She also loved sitting around campfires with friends and family, supporting and learning from fellow artists, watching the sunrise in Ocean City, MD, and, when needed, a little shopping therapy.

Friends, family, and fellow artists are invited to Celebrate Ann's beautiful life at Boordy Vineyards on Friday, November 13, 4:00-7:00pm. Please come whenever you're comfortable throughout the evening. A brief speaking program will take place between (4:00-4:30) and the remainder will be filled with food, art, family, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to Friends of Acadia, in honor of Ann and Tom’s favorite trip together (https://friendsofacadia.org/membership-giving/donate/).

The Crostic family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love and support they have received during this difficult time. Ann’s legacy of love, kindness, and beauty will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
