On April 24, 2022 C. Wayne Caswell went to his heavenly home. He was the beloved husband for 62 years to Beverly Elaine (nee Beshore) Caswell; devoted father of Kimberly Stephan and her husband Patrick, Cathy Davis and her husband Mike, Kristy Whipperman and her husband Bill; loving grandfather of Ronie Stephan and her husband Nicholas, Nicole Comer and her husband Timothy, Charles Bigelow, Wyatt Bigelow and his wife Casey, Parker Bigelow, Elijah Bigelow, Beverly Bigelow and Emma Whipperman; dear great-grandfather of Isaac Comer and Waylon Bigelow; dear brother-in-law of May Puckey and Joyce Vonderkall; he is also survived by numerous loving nieces and nephews.
Of his many accomplishments, C. Wayne Caswell was appointed by governors Ehrlich and O’ Malley to preside on the Maryland state Board of well drillers. In his free time he was a licensed pilot, as well as his wife Beverly, and together they loved to fly their Cessna Cardinal.
Devoted husband to Beverly of 62 years and often stated, “she is not just my wife, she is my life”. Loving father and mentor to daughters Kim, Cathy, and Kristy. Beloved by his grandchildren Ronie, Nicole, Chuck, Wyatt, Parker, Elijah, Beverly, and Emma and known to them as a “Father”, educator, mentor, a strong and reliable rock to lean on and a friend. He was devoted to Christ and strong and steady in his faith. He lived a full and active life and was always ready for adventure, traveling to many locations around the world and in our country. He loved to work from sunrise to sunset and never understood why some people liked to rest. Among his many accomplishments he was a carpenter, a cabinet maker, a stained glass artisan, “a truck builder”, an inventor, “professional story teller”, a Master well driller, a business owner running an operating C. Wayne Caswell well drilling from 1976 and never technically retired as his input and skill was a vital resource for Kristy who took over his company. He never stopped building and creating and was always planning new and amazing inventions. His most recent endeavor was opening “Pop Pop’s Fishing Hole” as his thirst to run a business was never quenched. He will be sorely missed by his family and all who knew him.
