Carolyn Jean Keesecker

On October 5, 2024, Carolyn “Jean” Keesecker peacefully passed away, leaving behind a legacy of caring, dedication, and a love for both people and animals. Jean was the beloved daughter of the late Oates “Jack” and Lillian. She was a cherished sister of Wally and Kay, a dear sister-in-law to Carla, and a loving aunt to her niece Crystalann and nephew Joel who will forever hold her in their hearts.

Jean’s love for horses was a central part of her life. Growing up, she spent countless hours riding and caring for her horses, a passion providing immense joy and fulfillment. A mare and a foal went with her to the University of West Virginia where she received a B.S. in Elementary Education (class of 1966). Jean worked as a teacher nurturing young minds for over 30 years at Rosedale and Fullerton Elementary in Baltimore County, while also raising a herd of cattle. She found great joy in sharing her love of animals with her students. After retiring from teaching, Jean worked part time at the Fork Veterinary office for several years. There, she met many people and their cherished pets, forming new friendships and learning new skills. Jean’s kind, compassionate, caring spirit touched many lives, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

The family will receive friends at the E.F. Lassahn Funeral Home, P.A., located at 11750 Belair Road in Kingsville, on Friday, October 18th from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM. Additional visiting hours will be held at E.F. Lassahn Funeral Home, P.A., on Saturday, October 19th from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM, with funeral services beginning at 10:30 AM. Jean will be laid to rest at Highview Memorial Gardens.

The Keesecker family expresses their heartfelt gratitude for the prayers, love, and support during this difficult time. The spirit of Jean’s life will live on in our hearts.
