Catherine Marie Leimbach (Shanklin)

Catherine Marie Leimbach, age 95, of Elizabethton, Tennessee went home to be with the Lord on April 29, 2022 at Sycamore Shoals Hospital.

Catherine was a farm girl who was born into a large family in Fork, Maryland. She was a middle child between three brothers and two sisters and was proud of her heritage. The Shanklin family was very close to one another and always placed family first. She lived through the Great Depression as a child which taught her the true meaning of sacrifice. Catherine enjoyed her profession of nursing. Her profession allowed her to live a life of giving. She let go of dreams to fulfill a life with the church and her family. Catherine was a member of Borderview Christian Church.

Catherine is preceded in death by her parents Stanley E. Shanklin and Claire V. Shanklin; husband, Jack Cogan Leimbach; sister, Virginia Camp and brother Tom Shanklin.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Cyndie Leimbach of Elizabethton; son, Dean Leimbach and wife Helen of Shickshinny, PA; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; brothers, Roy Shanklin of Bel Air, MD and Robert Shanklin and wife Pat of Fulton, MD and sister Ruth Ann Laatsch of Fork, MD. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

A service to honor the life of Catherine Marie Leimbach will be conducted at 11:00AM on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Borderview Christian Church in Elizabethton, Tennessee with Brother Scott Fisher, Minister officiating.

The family will receive friends from 10:00AM to 11:00AM prior to the service on Saturday at the church.

Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to a charity of your choice in memory of Catherine Marie Leimbach.

A graveside service will be held at Fork Christian Church Cemetery 6806 Sunshine Avenue Kingsville, MD. 21087 on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at 11:00am.
