Charles James Sykes

On January 1, 2026, Charles J. Sykes, Sr. passed away peacefully in his sleep. He was the beloved husband of the late Joan C. Sykes (née Derr); a devoted father to Charles J. Sykes, Jr. and his wife, Mary; a loving grandfather to Bryan Sykes; and a cherished great-grandfather to Griffin and Shepherd Sykes.

Charles was a retired member of the Baltimore City Police Department, proudly serving for over 30 years. He also honorably served his country as a member of the National Guard. His dedication to service, family, and community will be remembered by all who knew him.

Interment will take place at Moreland Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.
