It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Darlene Marie Russell (nee Williams) on January 15, 2024. She departed this world surrounded by her loving family, leaving behind a legacy of love, devotion, and cherished memories.
Darlene was the beloved wife of Kevin O’Brian Russell for 34 years, a partnership filled with love, understanding, and unwavering support. She was a devoted mother to Antonio Williams and Adrian Bright, alongside her daughter-in-law Angelica, and she reveled in her role as a loving grandmother to Alexander Daniel Bright.
Born to Nancy L. (nee Schline) Williams, Darlene was a cherished daughter and a beloved sister. She shared her life journey with her dear siblings: Diane Reusch, Howard Williams, Daniel Williams, Michelle McCleave, Sondra Jones, Dora Carroll, Donya Carroll, Corey Boulware, and the late Michael Williams.
Darlene was also the beloved daughter-in-law of the late Charles Russell, Sr., and the late Geraldine Russell. Her siblings-in-law, Kenneth Russell and Sharon Russell, were dear to her heart, as was the memory of the late Charles Russell, Jr.
In addition to her immediate family, Darlene leaves behind a vast network of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and godchildren who were touched by her warmth and kindness. Her presence in their lives will be profoundly missed.
To honor Darlene's life and memory, a gathering of friends and family will take place at the Lassahn Funeral Home, Inc. located at 7401 Belair Road in Overlea on Saturday, January 27, 2024, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The funeral service will commence at 4:00 pm on the same day. Interment arrangements will be shared at a later date.
For those who wish to commemorate Darlene's life, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.org), an organization that she held dear to her heart.
In this time of mourning, let us remember Darlene for the love she gave, the lives she touched, and the enduring impact of her presence. She will forever remain in our hearts, a beacon of love and compassion.
