David Kevin Hicks

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of David Kevin Hicks on February 10, 2025. David was a devoted husband, sharing 43 wonderful years of love and companionship with his beloved wife, Darlene (née Bopp) Hicks.

David was a cherished brother to Donald Hicks and his wife Anne, Douglas Hicks and his wife Bonnie, Sally Mills, and Sandi Pipkin and her husband Joseph. He will also be deeply missed by his loving four-legged companion, Laverne, along with numerous adoring nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

He is reunited in peace with his parents, Donald and Norma (née Roberts) Hicks, his father and mother-in-law, John E. Bopp, Sr. and Virginia S. (nee Stormfeltz) Bopp and his sister-in-law, Jo-Ann Gover.

A gifted athlete throughout his life, David excelled in tennis during his younger years and later found great joy in golf. His skilled hands transformed their home, including a beautifully remodeled kitchen that stands as a testament to his craftsmanship. David and Darlene shared a passion for travel, creating treasured memories while visiting the Caribbean islands. He embraced life fully, bringing warmth, laughter, and kindness to all who knew him.

David's family will receive friends at the Lassahn Funeral Home, Inc., 7401 Belair Road, on Saturday, February 22, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at 2:00 PM, with interment to be private.

In honor of David’s love for animals, memorial contributions may be made to the Maryland SPCA (www.mdspca.org).

David’s warmth, generosity, and zest for life will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
