Doris Ann Lundin (Slifker)
Saturday, May 30, 1942 – Tuesday, May 3, 2022
Doris Ann Lundin, age 79, of Middle River, MD, went home to be with the Lord on May 3, 2022. Doris was fierce in her faith. Two years after graduating from The Catholic High School of Baltimore in 1960, she joined Our Lady of Angels Convent in Glen Riddle, PA. God ultimately had other plans for her life, but she spent it doing His work. She taught in many Catholic schools throughout Baltimore before retiring from St. Luke Catholic Church in Edgemere, MD, where she served as the Coordinator of Religious Education.
Doris is preceded in death by her parents George and Anna Slifker; brothers Thomas and Richard Slifker; and former husband Joseph Lundin.
Doris cherished her beloved family and leaves behind her son, Mark Lundin and his wife Nicole of Perry Hall, MD; her daughter, Barbara Makowiecki and her husband David of Abingdon, MD; her son, David Lundin and his wife Diane of Alexandria, VA; her three grandchildren, Tyler and Katelyn Makowiecki and Peter Lundin; her brother James Slifker of Miami, FL; her sister Barbara Bausch of Glen Burnie, MD; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
The family will receive friends at the E.F. Lassahn Funeral Home, P.A., 11750 Belair Road in Kingsville on Thursday, May 12, 2022 from 3-5 & 7-9 PM. A Catholic funeral Mass to honor the life of Doris Ann Lundin will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, May 13, 2022, at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church. The Ladies Sodality will lead the Rosary at 9:30 AM, prior to the Mass. Interment will be private at her final resting place, Holly Hill Memorial Gardens.
Doris was abundantly generous and wanted to make a difference in the lives of everyone, especially children. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (stjude.org) or any charity of your choosing. In Doris’ final words to her family, “Be good people.”
