Doris E. Smith (Maier)

Doris E. Smith, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2024, at the age of 95. Born to the late Frederick and Nora (nee Klausmeier) Maier, Doris was a devoted daughter and a cherished member of her community.

Doris was the loving mother of Ronald Smith and his wife Debra, and the late Carol Wiesand and her husband Mark. She took immense pride in being the cherished grandmother of Andrew Smith and his fiancée Hannah.

Known for her vibrant spirit, Doris lived life to the fullest. She had a deep love for travel, hosting gatherings, and dancing the polka. Her home was always open to family and friends, especially during the holidays and for moments of relaxation at her beach house in Ocean City. Doris’s home was a place of warmth and joy, where many wonderful memories were created with those she loved most.

Doris will be remembered for her boundless energy, her love for life and her family, and the kindness she extended to everyone she met. Her legacy of love, laughter, and generosity will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, and interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Kingsville (www.sp-ls.org).
