E. Shirley Schafer (Leef)

Shirley Schafer (Spencer), nee Leef, age 93, of Cockeysville, MD, passed away on Thursday, February 24, 2022. Beloved wife of the late E. Burton Schafer, Sr. and the late Edward T. Spencer; devoted mother of Shirley (Spencer) Sebree (John), Virginia (Spencer) Stram (George), step-son, the late E. Burton Schafer, Jr. (Elaine), and step-daughter, the late Linda E. Amrhein (Gregory); seven grandchildren and spouses, fourteen great-grandchildren, and eight pre-deceased brothers and sisters, and numerous other relatives and friends. Born in Baltimore, MD, she was a homemaker, loved cooking/baking, gardening, puzzles, active in her church, and a prayer warrior for many loved ones.

Visitation will be held at the Lassahn Funeral Home, Inc., 7401 Belair Road (Overlea) on Monday, February 28, 2022, 2-5 and 7-9 pm. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at 1 pm with Rev. Henry Thompson and Rev Robert Brookman officiating. Interment will be at Parkwood Cemetery in Parkville, MD. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Maryland Masonic Homes, 300 International Circle, Cockeysville, MD 21030 or the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org.
