Eleanor Rose Pressell (Darney)

On any given sunny day, you could find her outside in her yard, gardening, watering, or sitting in her swing on the porch, but not too long; she was always moving. She enjoyed cooking and eating and sharing all the simple pleasures of life, gathering with family and friends whenever possible. Eleanor Rose Pressell, 89, of Belcamp, Maryland, peacefully passed away from illness on December 13, 2023 and will be dearly missed. She was born in July of 1934, to parents Charles Darney and Dorthea Diller, the youngest of their fourteen children.

Eleanor was a gentle soul, not afraid of hard work and after many years she retired from Harford Systems in Aberdeen, MD. Preceded in death by both parents and all thirteen siblings, Eleanor is survived by four children, three daughters: Mary and husband Mitchell McKaughan, Eva and husband Michael Jones, Penny and husband Barry Plato and son George Wrede, as well as her beloved grandchildren; four grandsons, Shawn, Adam, Cameron and Ethan and three granddaughters, Jessica, Adrian and Taylor.

Join us to honor her memory and pay your respects at Eleanor’s viewing to be held at the E.F. Lassahn Funeral Home, P.A., 11750 Belair Road in Kingsville, MD. on Friday December 15th from 2:00-4:00 pm and 7:00- 9:00 pm. On Saturday, December 16th a service will held at Lassahn’s and following the service, her remains will be buried at St. Stephens Catholic Church in Kingsville.
