Erma H. Wade (Hale)

On March 15, 2013, Erma H. Wade (nee Hale) of Hydes went to be with the Lord with her family at her bedside at the University of Maryland, St. Joseph Medical Center in Towson, MD. She was born and raised in Comers Rock, Grayson County, VA. Beloved wife of the late William L. Wade Sr., mother of Shirley E. Hipley and husband, Melvin, Barbara W. Menegatti and husband, Louis, Evangeline A. Creswell and late husband, Charles Wayne, William L. Wade Jr. and wife, Patricia, foster children R. Lee Morrison and wife, Sally and Tony L. Mathes and wife, Gail and the late Jeanette Luckhart. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

An avid Baltimore Orioles baseball fan, former duckpin minor league bowler, previous member of the group “Guys and Gals” dancers and an active member of the Jacksonville Senior Center where she has crocheted hundreds of baby hats for local hospital newborns and numerous prayer shawls for the families of the fallen soldiers and was awarded a certificate of outstanding volunteer service by the Baltimore County Department of Aging and state and local government officials.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Union UMC, 5225 Sweet Air Road, Baldwin, MD 21013. A viewing will be held at the E.F. Lassahn Funeral Home, P.A., 11750 Belair Road (Kingsville) on Monday, March 18, 2013, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Services to be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at Union UMC at 10:00 am. Interment in the Wilson Church Cemetery, Long Green and Manor Roads. Immediately following interment a reception will be held at Union UMC Fellowship Hall in Baldwin.
