On September 26, 2025, Gerden “Nuce” Riemenschneider peacefully passed away, surrounded by the love of his family. He was the beloved husband of 57 years to the late D. Victoria “Vicki” (nee Hartley) Riemenschneider. Nuce was a devoted father to Robert A. Riemenschneider and his wife Janis, Charles H. Riemenschneider and his wife Judy, Jane McCarthy and her late husband Donald, and the late Paul H. Riemenschneider. He was a loving grandfather to Robert F. Riemenschneider and his wife Kristen, Jon M. Riemenschneider and his wife Jennifer, David A. Riemenschneider, Matthew P. Riemenschneider and his wife Amanda, Jesse L. Riemenschneider and her husband Michael Krikorian, and Jenna Riemenschneider and her husband Kevin O’Connor. Nuce was also proud of his twelve great-grandchildren. He was the dear brother of the late Vernon Riemenschneider and is survived by his sister-in-law, Rose Stedman, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who loved him dearly.
Nuce was drafted into the U.S. Navy during World War II, where he honorably served his country and attained the rank of Coxswain. Following his service, he lived a life filled with hard work, dedication, and joy. He loved farming, took great pride in mowing his lawn, and with his skill as a carpenter, even built his own home. One of his greatest joys was flying his Piper Cherokee 140 airplane, which reflected his adventurous spirit. A man of faith, Nuce was a dedicated member of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, where he gave generously of his time and service.
