Harry B. Mackey Jr.

On December 24, 2022 Harry B. Mackey, Jr. peacefully passed. He was the beloved husband of the late Charlotte Denise (nee Weber) Mackey; devoted father of Bryan Mackey and his wife Heather, and Blair Mackey and his wife Tina; loving grandfather of Martin Mackey, Maeve Mackey and Tamsyn Mackey; dear brother of Richard Mackey and his wife Mary; uncle of Gina Gebhart and Laura Bannayan; he is also survived by his loving cousins Robbin Moler and Robert Moler and a host of dear friends.

Harry was an active member of Calvary Lutheran Church and enjoyed his time with his sons and grandson in the Boy Scouts, Troop 247. Harry was involved with many activities throughout his life, which included a hobby of building model railroads, trains and boats; serving as docent for the Walter’s Art Gallery; camping in Chincoteague, Virginia with his family and friends, participating in all the fun activities within the Avondell Senior Living Community. He loved his family and enjoyed sailing together and sharing some wonderful times with his grandchildren aboard his sailboat named, “Tir na nOg”,which translates as “land of the little people from Neverland”. Harry definitely had some fun adventures while sailing his boat through the intercostal waterway from Maryland to Florida and even ventured to the Bahamas to taste some rum. Harry brought joy to those he met and knew and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

The family will receive friends at the E.F. Lassahn Funeral Home, P.A. 11750 Belair Road in Kingsville on Sunday, January 8, 2023 from 1:00pm – 4:00pm. A Memorial service will be held for Harry and his late wife, Charlotte Denise on Sunday, January 8, 2023 at 4:00pm at the funeral home. Interment is private.
