Born in Newburgh, N.Y., March 11, 1919, raised in Brooklyn, N.Y., attended
Columbia College obtaining his BA degree in 1940. While in College played on the Varsity Basket Ball and track teams. Was a member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity. Earned an MS Degree, Business (1947) Columbia University Business School after World War II.
Resident of Edenwald
Drafted into the Army January 1941; attended Officers Training Signal Corps, graduated January 1942 and assigned to the 57th Signal Bn. VI Corps.
Participated in three invasions: Salerno, Anzio, and Southern France.
Assigned to Retired Reserves in 1954 as a Major Signal Corps.
Spent 44 years in Corporate Manufacturing Complex; The last 25 years as Chief Financial Officer, earlier in career was Controller for Mack Trucks, Hagerstown.
The last assignment was Vice President of Finance and Administration for National Instrument Co., Inc., Baltimore Maryland for 13 years. Retire in 1991.
Active in Cosmopolitan Club of Baltimore for 19 years. Also a member of the American Legion, Towson Post 22 until 2008.
Since 1991, served as a volunteer for AARP preparing taxes for senior citizens until 2009. At the same time continued to play bridge at BYKOTA as codirector until 2011 of Duplicate Bridge on Monday and Friday afternoons.
Married to Beulah I Talbott of Baltimore I 1953. Deceased in January 2012. Two daughters, Linda Lee (deceased) and Pegi Lee Talbott, 3 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Henry M. Brown died in his sleep October 31, 2015.
Interment will be private.
