James Wendell Conkel, Sr.

On October 15, 2025, James W. Conkel, Sr. passed away; he was an avid hunter and fisherman; beloved husband of Carolyn Conkel (nee Rappold); devoted father of James Conkel, Jr. and his wife Jan, Stephen Conkel and his wife Kim and Lisa Doering and her husband Glenn, Jr.; cherished grandfather of Melissa Heaps, Jennifer Doering, Glenn Doering III, Sara Canham, Holly Richardson, Laura Schmidt, Scott Schmidt, Colleen Schmidt and Gavin Korn; great-grandfather of Chandler Heaps, John Heaps, Jr., Emma Hostetter, Lucas Canham, Ben Canham and Leo Sophocles; brother of Lois Donahue, Roger Owens and the late Mike Conkel, Dottie Caldwell, Anna Lou Samples, Paul Ralph Conkel, and George Bill Conkel.

Visiting at the Lassahn Funeral Home, Inc., 7401 Belair Road (Overlea) on Friday, October 17, 2025, from 3-5 and 7-9 pm. Funeral services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children at https://donate.shrinerschildrens.org.
