James Skazis

James Skazis, a cherished father, grandfather, brother, and friend, peacefully passed away on December 8, 2024. He was the beloved husband of the late Marie Katherine (née Buczkowski) Skazis. James leaves behind his devoted son, Michael C. Skazis, and his wife, Victoria; as well as his loving grandchildren, Matthew, Jason, Adam, and Brooke, who brought him great joy.

James is also survived by his caring brother, Stan Skazis, his dear sister-in-law, Carol Sweeney, and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, and cousins who adored him.

A proud Army veteran, James served his country honorably during the Vietnam War. Known for his warm and happy spirit, James was a man who embraced life with enthusiasm. He cherished his family, shared countless fun stories, and found joy in outdoor activities such as hiking, bicycling, and working out. He equally treasured moments of relaxation, often unwinding with his favorite western shows and movies.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate James' life at the Lassahn Funeral Home, Inc., 7401 Belair Road, on Thursday, December 12th. Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and again from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a funeral service beginning at 8:00 PM. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contributions to the American Diabetes Association (www.diabetes.org) or Disabled American Veterans (www.dav.org).

The Skazis family deeply appreciates the support and comfort provided during this difficult time. James' vibrant spirit and love for life will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
