It is with deep sadness that the family of Jesse D. Carter, Sr. announces his sudden passing on January 9th, 2021. He was born in Baltimore, MD to Stanley E. Carter, Sr. and Margaret A. Snyder.
He was predeceased by his parents and his son, Jesse Carter, Jr. He is survived by his brothers, Stanley Carter Jr. and wife Kathy, Wayne Carter Sr. and late wife Jeanne, and sister, Janice Carter and late husband Richard, son Christopher Carter and wife Brooke, and his step-children Matthew Barrett and wife Megan, Jennifer Cox and husband Brad, and Ashley Barrett and Tyler, grandchildren Lorelei Carter, Grace and Jack Barrett, Kellen and Fallon Cox, and many cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He graduated from The John Carroll School in 1974. He began his 30-year career with Wayne Carter Construction, Inc. during his adolescent years and continued with the company full-time after graduating high school. He transitioned to Baltimore Gas and Electric Company (BGE) in 1999 as a Material Handler/Driver for BGE Supply out of the RBC warehouse. During his tenure, he was described as a “model employee” due to his hard work and devotion day-in-and-day-out. Most importantly, during his time with BGE he developed meaningful relationships with colleagues that became family.
In recent years, Jesse enjoyed the role of hosting and gathering family events, welcoming any and all as learned from his mother over the years. Jesse would also talk and impart his wisdom regarding masonry, music, the weather, and all things Kingsville. He enjoyed spending time with his labrador retrievers, especially visits to the creek on Bottom Road. One of his best attributes was his ability to make people laugh and smile while in his company. To know him was to love him; his legacy has left a lasting impression.
Visiting at The E.F. Lassahn Funeral Home, P.A., 11750 Belair Road (Kingsville) on Wednesday, January 13, 2021, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to The Baltimore Humane Society in Jesse’s honor.
COVID restrictions are in place. Visitors are welcome at 50% capacity and asked to wear face coverings and respect social distance guidelines.
The family would also like to thank everyone for their outreach, offers of support, and condolences. It is quite obvious how loved he was.
