John Joseph Klima

John Joseph Klima, 87, of Baltimore, MD, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at the Abington Health-Lansdale Hospital. He was the beloved husband of the late Carmella Mary (Taresco) Klima who passed January 30, 1978.

Born January 7, 1928 in McAdoo Heights, PA, he was a son of the Andrew and Mary (Perrin) Klima.

Mr. Klima served in the United States Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict. Following his honorable discharge from the Navy he was employed as a Baltimore City Maryland Police Officer for 14 years until his retirement.

As a proud veteran and retired police officer, John held memberships to; Veteran of Foreign Wars, American Legion of Perry Hall, MD, Baltimore Retired Police Benevolent Association, International Police Association, and Maryland Law Enforcement Officers, Inc.

Surviving are his children, Karen Ann Klima of Baltimore, MD, John J. Klima, Jr. of Perkasie, PA, Mary Anne Klima of Parkville, MD; grandchildren, Andrew, Lauren, and Matthew Klima; sisters, Celia Besitka of McAdoo Heights, PA, and Ann Copsey of Falls Church, VA; and loving companion, Joan Christian of Baltimore, MD.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Mary Hudock, and Andrew J. Klima, Jr.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Church in Fullerton on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at 11am. The family will receive friends at the Lassahn Funeral Home, Inc. in Overlea 7401 Belair Rd. on Monday, August 3, 2015 from 2-4 & 7-9pm. A Christian Wake Service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, August 3, 2015 (due notice). Interment Parkwood Cemetery.
