Joseph Edward Johnson, Jr.

On Friday, November 18, 2011, Joseph Edward Johnson, Jr. passed away after a long battle with cancer, in the presence of his devoted son and daughter. A long-time resident of Wilson Point, Joe/Ed was born on October 17th, 1950, attended St. Mary’s School in Govans, then Mount St. Joseph High School.

Joe served in the United States Marine Corps, which shaped him into the motivated and driven person most knew him to be. He spent his career doing Mechanical Contracting and Construction Management, and finished his career as a Project Manager for The Tatitlek Corporation. He enjoyed the fruits of the Chesapeake Bay as an avid fisherman and crabber, and through both recreational and competitive sailing.

Joe is survived by two sons, Joseph Edward Johnson, III, of Georgia, and Daniel Patrick Johnson of New York; a daughter, Meghan Kathleen Johnson Homa of Maryland; a daughter-in-law, Lisa Peecook Johnson of Georgia; a son-in-law, Jay Martin Homa of Maryland; four loving grandchildren, Luke Alexander Clark Johnson of New York, Isabella Grace Johnson of Georgia, Abigail Reese Johnson of Georgia, and Anna Marie Homa of Maryland; and his former wife, Mary Patricia Kilcullen Johnson.

A private funeral will be held for the family on Tuesday.
