Joseph M. Schlicht Jr. passed away on March 3, 2026, on his 87th birthday.
He was the loving husband of the late Maryln I. Schlicht (née Long), with whom he shared 43½ wonderful years of marriage.
He was a graduate of Parkville High School, Class of 1956. He was an employee of the Baltimore County government for 40 years before he retired. He enjoyed model trains, bowling, many DIY projects, and watching his favorite local football team the Baltimore Colts, Stallions, and later, the Ravens, play. He was a faithful member of Perry Hall Baptist Church where he served as a trustee and happily greeted all who came through the church doors. He was devoted to caring and praying for others. But what he most of all enjoyed was spending time with his family, whom he cherished immensely.
He is survived by his children: Terri Zentkovich (Terry), Ronald Schlicht (Laura), Lori Korczakowski (Robert), and Julie Siwak (Nathan). He is also survived by his grandchildren: Kelli Resseguie (Pete), Samantha Gryctz (Jeremy), Natalie Teller (Michael), Jenna Zentkovich, Jacob Schlicht (Hayley), Kyle Zentkovich (fiancee Lizzie), Ryan and Emma Korczakowski, and Nadia and Karina Siwak; and his great-grandchildren: Lily and Maxwell Gryctz, Hunter Schlicht-Wunner and Madison Teller, and Caleb and Elena Resseguie. He is also survived by his sister, Shirley A. Schlicht.
