Karen Ann Shafer

November 9, 1964 – April 19, 2026

Karen Ann Shafer passed away peacefully on April 19, 2026, at 11:35 in the morning, at the age

of 61.

Karen was a beloved mother, partner, grandmother and friend. She is survived by her daughter,

Caitlin Mimaros (née Walker), and her partner, Jeffrey Decker. Her Son in law George Mimaros,

and her grandchildren Dimitri and Penelope Mimaros. Jeffrey Decker Jr., Liz Decker, their

daughter Kolliope and Nicholas Decker. Russell and Kelly Shockley, their children Grant and

Jackson, and Colin Walker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Marjorie Shafer, and her brothers, John

Shafer and Donald “Chip” Shafer.

Karen will be remembered for her strength, her warmth, and the love she gave so freely to those

around her. She touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She enjoyed hosting parties for family and friends, true crime and her beach house in Ocean

City.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
