Kenneth Dwight Dryden

Kenneth Dwight Dryden passed away peacefully on July 5, 2021 surrounded by his family. He is survived by his children Denise Dryden Fiorucci and Brian Fiorucci, David Kenneth Dryden and Shannon Lezatte, and Daniel Kenneth Dryden. Kenneth was the extremely proud grandfather of Dani Aquilla Dryden. Kenneth was the beloved son of the late Elon and Edna Dryden, brother of the late Mildred Dryden Holzschuh, and brother-in-law of the late Gerard Holzschuh. He is also survived by his former wife, Jacqueline Aquilla Dryden and Henry Jones.

Kenny was born in East Baltimore and loved all things Baltimore. He graduated high school from Baltimore City College and earned his undergraduate degree from University of Baltimore. He served in the Maryland National Guard from 1955 to 1963. Kenny worked at Bethlehem Steel for 31 years from 1955 to 1986 and went on to work at Baltimore County Government for 25 years from 1986 to 2012. He was a past Chairman and member of the Baltimore County Zoning Board serving from 1978 to 1986.

Kenny moved to Kingsville, MD in 1973 raising his family there for 43 years. He coached little league sports, was a member of the Greater Kingsville Civic Association, and was a member of the Upper Falls Odd Fellows Lodge 175. Kenny was an active member of the Eastside Athletic Club since 1956 serving as past President in 1958-59 and 1985-87. He enjoyed playing softball for the Baltimore Beltway Senior Softball Dundalk Team for 18 years.

Kenny loved people and he loved to tell stories having a vivid memory of history and his life. He was a diehard Baltimore Colts fan having season tickets from 1953 to 1983 and could share sports trivia facts about football and baseball in particular. He was proud of his children and reminisced often about their lives, how proud he was of them, and he loved to share stories about their life “in the Ville.” He was loved by his nephews and nieces, his DeSantis family, friends, near and far, and would do anything for anyone who called him for advice or help.

Visitation will be held at the E. F. Lassahn Funeral, 11750 Belair Road, Kingsville, MD from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, July 9, 2021 with a service to be held at 7:00 P.M. Interment will be private.
