Margaret R. Salichs (Hayes)

Margaret Salichs passed on Dec. 8 , 2023 at the age of 97 in the peaceful setting of Stella Maris Hospice. She was the eldest sister to Mary Pat Wentker, Edward Hayes and Charles Hayes. She married Eduardo Salichs on May 14, 1950 at St. Ann's Church. They remained married for 56 years until Ed's passing in 2006. Although she had no children, she was the loving and ever-present Aunt to Christopher and Mark Wentker.

Margaret was born April 23rd 1926 in Baltimore. She was baptized at Blessed Sacrament Church. She attended St. Ann grade school, 2 years commercial school at St. Paul school. Margaret began working at 19 for the Social Security Administration in 1942. She worked for the Navy and the Dept. of Defense for 32 years until she retired. She continued working after retiring from the government at the University of Maryland Cancer Center.

Margaret loved working with numbers, crocheting and jigsaw puzzles. She was an active member of the St. Joseph Parish in Fullerton throughout her life. She and her husband enjoyed road trips across the country making New Smyrna, Florida and Myrtle Beach, SC their home away from home. She lived independently for 97 years in her home with the watchful and caring support of her Nottingham neighbors.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St Joseph Catholic Church (Fullerton) on Friday, December 22, 2023 at 10 am. Viewing will be on Thursday, December 21, 2023, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Lassahn funeral Home, Inc., 7401 Belair Road (Overlea).
