Maria del Carmen Villabón passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Luis A. Villabón.

She was the loving mother of the late Luis E. Villabón, Carmen M. Spiker and her husband, John R., Melinda Petroski and her partner, Karl, Emirgen "Emma" Shaw, Sayra Praydis and her husband, Joe, and Maggie Maly and her husband, Jens J.

Maria was the beloved sister of Hernando Zabala, the late Idaly Perdomo, and the late Saturno Mahecha.

Maria was a proud grandmother to Stefanie and her husband, Eric; Luis E. Jr.; Natalie and her husband, Mike; Christina and her husband, Michael; Joey and his wife, Jessica; Scott; Brittany and her fiancé, Zachary; Cassandra; Luke; and Jake. She was also the cherished great-grandmother of Gabriela, Valentina, and Liliana, and was joyfully awaiting the arrival of her great-grandson.

She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and dear friends; some who reside in her birth country of Colombia, South America.

Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Maria's life at Lassahn Funeral Home, Inc., 7401 Belair Road, on Thursday, July 9, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, July 10, at 9:00 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 2 Willow Avenue. Interment will follow at Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
