Marianne Elsie Zick

On March 17, 2022 Marianne Elsie (nee Sandoz) Zick passed away. She was the beloved wife for 61 years to Lester Kenneth Zick; devoted mother of Terry, Sally and Brian Zick; loving grandmother of Jennifer Nesaw and Jessica Cotherman; cherished great-grandmother of Madeline and Finnegan Nesaw; dear sister of Maurice Sandoz and the late Margaret and Gordon Sandoz; she is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews in England.

As a worker in a critical industry during World War II, Marianne was awarded a lifetime pension from the British government for her service. Spending nights in a damp fallout shelter, commuting home during a total blackout, and living through the continual bombing of Birmingham (England) undoubtably contributed to her indomitable spirit and incredible strength she exhibited through the rest of her life. Because she was a ‘GI Bride’, she joined the TBA (Trans-Atlantic Brides Association) and was an active member for many years.

The family will receive friends at the E.F. Lassahn Funeral Home, P.A. 11750 Belair Road in Kingsville on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 from 3-5pm, at which time funeral services will begin at 5pm.
