Marie Lillian Ross (Pierson)

Marie Lillian Ross of Easton died peacefully at Quail Run Assisted Living in Perry Hall on May 15, 2013 after declining health issues. She was 86 years old. She was born in Baltimore on July 20, 1926 to the late Howard Pierson and the late Lillian Fousek Pierson.

She graduated from The Catholic High School of Baltimore in 1944. While in high school she met Willis Archie Ross of Greensboro, Alabama, the ‘boy next door’. Mr. Ross had moved to Maryland in 1940 to obtain employment at Glenn L. Martin and was living across the street. They began dating and were married on September 15, 1946. They were married over 66 years.

Marie worked for a short time as a secretary and then became a full time housewife and mom to her daughter Cindy. She enjoyed bowling, reading, housekeeping, bingo and boating and camping with her family. Marie and Willis relocated from Baltimore to Easton, MD in 1989 and lived in Hyde Park. She recently returned to Baltimore after her husband’s passing to be closer to her daughter, and she resided at Quail Run Assisted Living in Perry Hall, with eventual assistance from Gilchrist Hospice.

She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Reese and her husband, Tom, of Kingsville, MD. She was predeceased by her husband Willis, who died in December 2012, and her brother Howard Pierson. Marie was well loved by all who met her for her humor and gentle disposition.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date
