Mary Lucile Hearn (Wenger)

On October 18, 2024, Mary Lucile Hearn passed away. Mary was born in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania; she was the daughter of Myers and Amy Wenger, and the younger sister of Elizabeth Wenger Garber and Jay Wenger, M.D.


She was married to Richard Hearn for 57 years, from July 1958 until his death in 2015.


She is survived by her daughters Terry Mixter and her husband Bob, and Alison Spiegel and her husband Pete, five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.


Mary was a teacher of English and history, working in the Maryland public school system, before returning to school for a degree in library science.


For many years she enjoyed gardening, traveling, and watching the Baltimore Orioles.


Over the course of her life, Mary lived in many locations including Kingsville, Maryland. She finished her race at Oak Crest Senior Living in Parkville, Maryland, where she had many friends whom she enjoyed and who will miss her company.


Mary overcame adversity to live a full and productive life and though she will be missed by her family, they are at peace knowing she has now fully entered the joy of her Lord.


A memorial service will be held at Oak Crest Chapel, on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at 11 am..
