Michael D Brashears

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Michael D. Brashears on July 29, 2025. Michael was the beloved husband of Virginia A. Brashears (née Hare), with whom he shared 56 years of unwavering love and partnership. He was a devoted father to Danielle Regester and her husband Michael, Amanda Boulden and her husband Richard, and the late Michelle Brashears.

Michael was a proud and cherished grandfather to Georgia Brashears, Grace Brashears, and Stephen Regester, whose lives he touched deeply with his warmth, wisdom, and gentle presence. He was the loving son of the late Joseph K. and Betty Jean Brashears (née Gainer) and a dear brother to Thomas Brashears and his late wife Bonnie, the late Patricia Thrift and her husband Gary, the late Joseph Brashears, the late Deborah Melbourne and her husband Devon, and the late Charles Brashears. He also held a special bond with his in-laws Dorothy Burk, Lawrence Hare, and his wife LouAnn, and was deeply loved by many nieces and nephews.

Michael will be remembered for his steadfast faith, kind heart, and the lasting legacy he leaves in the lives of those who knew and loved him.

Family and friends are invited to gather at the E.F. Lassahn Funeral Home, P.A. (11750 Belair Road, Kingsville) on Monday, August 4, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A Prayer Service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at 10:00 AM, followed by entombment in the Gardens of Faith Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Michael’s honor to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org), Disabled American Veterans (www.dav.org), or the National Kidney Foundation (www.kidney.org).
