Late on July 4th, 2026 Nancy Louise Wilson (née Pollen, best known as Nancie) passed from this world to her heavenly home. Her death came quietly, in her long-time residence in Fallston, Maryland, after a courageous and faith-filled 3.5-year battle with two distinct types of cancer. She is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Doris Pollen. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Murray Wilson, their son, Ryan Wilson and his partner, Zachary Paugh, and their daughter, Lauren Janosko, her husband, Andrew Janosko, and their beloved children, Bridget, Lizzie, Ella, and Drew. Her grandchildren called her “B”, and their view was that "B is always full of surprises!" She is also survived by two dear sisters, Judith Frazier and her husband, Steven 'Bulldog' Frazier, and Carol Humphreys and her partner, Danny Hughes, and their families.
Nancie was born in Baltimore on February 17, 1957, but she spent most of her early life and education in the Niger Republic and Nigeria, where her parents were Christian missionaries. She returned to the US full time after high school, earned an Associates Degree, then worked in several clerical jobs. For most of her married life, she was a homemaker, caring for her family, home-schooling her children, and graciously hosting countless travelers, friends, and family in her home. She was a consummate hostess, and a super shopper, always looking for a coupon, a deal, or 'a 30% off at Kohl's'. She was also known for her kind thank-you notes and thoughtful gifts.
In addition to her faithful church involvement over the decades, she also enjoyed water aerobics and lunches with the 'Pool Ladies' of the Bel Air Athletic Club. She loved to travel, especially ‘anywhere with blue water’. Trips to the 2002 Winter Olympics in Utah, and to Italy and other parts of Europe were also particular highlights. Whether the trip took her to visit family and friends, a romantic getaway, or an educational field trip, Nancie was sure to over pack and to photograph every minute of it! She formed warm and lasting friendships wherever she went, and her departure will leave significant holes in the lives of many.
Visitation of the family will be held on both Wednesday, July 8, 2026 and Thursday, July 9, 2026 from 3-5 PM and 7-9 PM each day, at the E.F. Lassahn Funeral Home, P.A., 11750 Belair Road, Kingsville, MD. A funeral will be held on Friday, July 10, 2026 at 12:00 noon, at the New Covenant Presbyterian Church, 128 St. Mary’s Church Road, Abingdon, MD. A graveside service will follow at the Gardens of Faith Cemetery, then a reception luncheon for all who want to extend the day's fellowship, back at the church building in Abingdon.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a gift to the cancer treatment program that gave her such faithful care: The Sandra & Malcolm Berman Cancer Institute, c/o GBMC Foundation, 6701 N Charles St, Towson MD 21204.
