On November 2, 2026, Patricia Ann (nee Raab) Schmidt passed away, leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories and a beautiful legacy of love, family, faith, and kindness.

Patricia was the beloved wife of the late Herman Schmidt; a devoted and loving mother of Jesse McBride and his wife Robin, and Elizabeth Potarazu and her husband Krishna; a dear stepmother of Christopher Schmidt, Katy Ryohock, Margaret Schmidt, and Thomas Schmidt; and a proud and cherished grandmother of Ashley Owston, Shane McBride, Jr., Sara McBride, Liam Potarazu, Annabella Potarazu, and Sienna Potarazu, as well as 17 step-grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She was the loving sister of Dolores Rose, Kitty Reiser, Mark Raab, Rosie Mabe, and Barbara Williams. Patricia was predeceased by her beloved son, Shane McBride; her loving parents, John George Raab and Margaret Catherine (nee Hoehn) Raab; and her dear sister, Julie Akers. She is also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Patricia's greatest joy was her family. She treasured the time they spent together, finding happiness in life's simple moments, family gatherings, and the many wonderful memories they created throughout the years. She had an adventurous, carefree spirit and a delightful sense of humor that brought laughter and joy to those around her. Patricia embraced life with enthusiasm and was never afraid to have a little fun, whether it was zip-lining at Deep Creek Lake or doing somersaults in the yard with her grandchildren. These playful, spontaneous moments reflected her youthful spirit and her wonderful ability to make even the simplest occasions unforgettable. Her love of life, laughter, and family created memories that will be treasured for generations.

Patricia had a deep appreciation for the beauty of nature and a wonderful creative spirit. She especially loved gardening and horticulture, finding joy and fulfillment in nurturing flowers and plants and watching them flourish. Her passion for flowers was reflected in her work as a florist, where her creativity and artistic talents allowed her to bring beauty and happiness to others. She enjoyed many creative endeavors and had a special gift for appreciating the beauty in the world around her.

Patricia also had a genuine love for history and the preservation of the past. As a member of the Kingsville Historic Society, she was actively interested in historic preservation and valued the importance of protecting the heritage and traditions of her community for future generations. A lifelong parishioner of St. Stephen Church, her faith was an important part of her life and remained a source of strength and comfort. She also enjoyed traveling, discovering new places, embracing new adventures, and sharing memorable experiences with those she loved.

Patricia will be lovingly remembered for her devotion to family, her adventurous and joyful spirit, her wonderful sense of humor, her creative talents, and her appreciation for nature and history. She had a special way of bringing happiness into the lives of others, reminding those around her to enjoy life's adventures, laugh often, and cherish every moment together. Although she will be deeply missed, her love, laughter, and the beautiful memories she leaves behind will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Stephen Church in Bradshaw on Saturday, November 7, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Bel Air Memorial Gardens.
