Monaghan, Sr. beloved husband of Regina (nee Smith) Monaghan; devoted father of Catherine Robeson and her husband Donald, Paul Monaghan, Jr. and his wife Sue, Margaret Burgess and her husband Steven, Carole Gonzalez and her husband Anibal Jr., and Shawn Monaghan and his wife Allison; cherished grandfather of Brian Robeson and his wife Beatrice, Matthew Robeson and his wife Elise, Paul Monaghan, III, Shannon Monaghan, Michael Burgess and his wife Morgan, Sarah Sutphin and her husband Joseph Jr., Daniel Gonzalez, Elizabeth Gonzalez, Bridget Gonzalez, Abigail Gonzalez, Nicholas Gonzalez, Stephen Gonzalez, Claudaya Hood Bey, Jessica Fultz, Nicole Monaghan, Alexis Monaghan and Brandon Wozniak, and Shawn Monaghan, Jr.; dear great grandfather of Cayden Wozniak, Josephine “Rosie” Robeson and Owen Robeson; loving brother of the late James Monaghan, Joseph Monaghan, Richard Monaghan, Gerald Monaghan, Donald Monaghan, Eileen Rouse, Patricia Robb, Sister Mary Monaghan, SSND, and Sister Mary DeLourdes Monaghan, SSND; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the Lassahn Funeral Home, Inc. 7401 Belair Road in Overlea on Thursday, February 22, 2018 from 6-9pm. A Christian Wake Service will be held Thursday, February 22, 2018 at 8:30pm at the funeral home. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Michael the Archangel Church on Friday, February 23, 2018 at 11am. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be to University of Maryland Medical Center Division of Transplantation.
