Richard Donald Herbert Sr.

On July 17, 2023, Richard Donald Herbert,Sr. beloved husband of Jean, (nee Meyers) Herbert; son of the late Raleigh A. and Marie Herbert; devoted father of Richard D. Herbert, Jr., and wife Dru, David G. Herbert and wife Lyn and Jon C. Herbert; loving grandfather of Matthew, Christianna, Paige, Nicholas, Elise, Patrick, Amelia and Brooks; dear brother of Garry, the late Jack, Nancy, Martha, Patricia, Sally, Karen, Alfred and David.

He attended University of Maryland in College Park and graduated from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. He was the former vice-president and general manager of Peerless Manufacturing Company of Columbia, Pa. While at Peerless he developed the China manufacturing operation back in 1998, when few U.S. companies ventured to China. He brought strong engineering and manufacturing capabilites to the company. It was the boost the company needed after selling the domestic foundry in the late 1970's.

He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose and a proud graduate of their sponsored school called Mooseheart. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to honor him at Moose Charities, Inc. 155 S. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at 11:00am at Fallston United Methodist Church. A visitation and luncheon will immediate follow.
