Robert J. Holmes

Robert J. Holmes, 89, of Kingsville, MD passed peacefully at his home on January 22, 2020. He is the beloved husband for 62 years to Marian (nee Mellody) Holmes.

Robert was born on March 25, 1930 in Scranton, PA and was the son of William Francis and Elizabeth (Burke) Holmes and was a graduate of Holy Rosary High School. He served in the Marines during the Korean War and received a Purple Heart Medal. He worked for the telephone company for 36 years, was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the VFW in Parkville.

In addition to his wife Marian, Robert is the devoted father of Robert Holmes and his wife Mary Claire and Mary Elizabeth Brennan and her husband Christopher; loving grandfather of William Brennan, Ian Holmes, Matthew Brennan, Conall Brennan, Emma Holmes and Caroline Holmes; dear brother of the late William Holmes, John Holmes and George Holmes; he is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the E.F. Lassahn Funeral Home, P.A., 11750 Belair Road in Kingsville on Sunday, January 26, 2020 from 3-7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Stephen Church 8030 Bradshaw Rd, Kingsville, on Monday, January 27, 2020 at 1pm. Interment St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church Cemetery.
