Hassell, Jr., retired from Baltimore City Fire Department on Mary Ave and member of the Abendshoen Knights of Columbus Council # 11615, and beloved husband for 55 years of Patricia E. (nee Caldwell) Hassell.; devoted father of Doreen McGlaughlin, Marie Howard and her husband Walt and Kim Andrulonis and her husband Gary; loving grandfather of Walter, III, Ryan, Bradley, Lisa and Brandon; dear great grandfather of Mya Grace and Noah Walter.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Church of the Annunciation on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at 10am. The family will receive friends at the Lassahn Funeral Home, Inc. 7401 Belair Road (Overlea) on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 from 2-4 & 6-8pm. A Christian Wake Service will be held on Wednesday, May 22,2013 at 3pm. Interment Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery. If desired memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
