Sharon Anne (nee Simmons) Waddill passed away peacefully, surrounded by love, with her devoted daughter by her side. Sharon was the beloved wife of the late Albert F. Waddill and a cherished and loving mother to Kimberly J. Kraus and her husband David, who were the center of her world.
She was preceded in death by her dear brothers, Lawrence Simmons, Jr. and James Simmons. Sharon will be lovingly remembered by her nephews, Michael Simmons and Jeffrey Simmons, along with many extended family members, friends, and neighbors whose lives she touched with her kindness.
Sharon found great joy in staying active and connected. She loved attending the Cockeysville Senior Center, where she especially enjoyed spending time with friends and participating in the Strength and Fitness Exercise Class. She was also a dedicated board member and an active participant in the Nottingham Community Association, always caring deeply about her community and those around her. An avid sports fan, she supported her beloved Baltimore Ravens and Baltimore Orioles. Also, she never missed an opportunity to listen to Eddy Arnold, a venerated Grand Ole Opry singer elected into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1966.
Known for her generous heart, Sharon was always willing to lend a helping hand. She was active in her faith supporting the Embracing our Mission-Shaping Our Future for the Holy Spirit Catholic Church, providing altar flowers, and regularly attending Saturday mass. Her love for her family and friends, her warm presence, and her giving spirit will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
The family will receive friends at Lassahn Funeral Home, Inc., 7401 Belair Road in Overlea, on Monday, February 16, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at which time funeral services will begin. Sharon will be laid to rest at Meadowridge Cemetery.
If desired, memorial contributions may be made in Sharon’s memory to the Maryland Food Bank.
The family sincerely appreciates the prayers, love, and support extended to them during this difficult time.
