Sheila Marie Porter, born March 23, 1939, passed away on December 18, 2023 at the age of 84 years old. She and Raymond "Butch" Porter were married for 56 years. She is survived by her two children, Raymond and Kim; seven grandchildren, Kaitlan Wood, Christopher Hubbard, Meghann Porter, Brian Hubbard, Alyssa Webster, Brittany Santoni, Christopher Santoni; and three great grandchildren, Cameron Wood, Tori Wood, and Grant Webster.
Sheila graduated from Kenwood High School and recalled loving to socialize with her friends and go to school dances. It was there that she met Raymond Porter, whom she married in 1961. Together, they purchased Porter's Seneca Marina in 1979. They enjoyed going out on their boat, and could be frequently found fishing and going on boating trips to Ocean City and Tilghman Island.
In 1996, Sheila and Raymond bought property in West Virginia and built a cabin where they shared countless adventures, meals, and laughter with friends and family. Most memorable was the time a bear took a liking to her vanilla scented candle that she had placed in the bay window.
Sheila loved to travel and her favorite trips included camping, a Caribbean cruise with her children and grandchildren, a week at Walt Disney World that included racing in wheelchairs, and a roadtrip to Yellowstone National Park, Salt Lake, the Grand Canyon, and Las Vegas.
Sheila's favorite things included her poodle, Suzette; needlepoint; crochet, and cookies made by Tim "The Cookie Man" Nosek. Sheila was a devoted fan of Ray Lewis and Celine Dion. After two failed attempts to see Celine Dion live in Las Vegas, she was finally able to attend a concert in Baltimore.
Her warmth, love, and humor was felt by all who knew her and she will be greatly missed by friends and family.
