Shirley Jane Mcpherson (Huber)

Shirley Jane McPherson (née Huber) passed away peacefully on January 6, 2025. She was the cherished wife of the late John Calhun McPherson and a devoted mother to Shirley Coelho, John McPherson, Dr. Scott McPherson, and the late Lee and Glenn McPherson. Her legacy of love and kindness lives on through her 11 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Born to William and Mary (née Thune) Huber, Shirley grew up alongside her beloved sisters, Janice Worthington and Nancy Kern, who have also preceded her in passing. Shirley's journey in life was defined by her resilience, determination, and an enduring love for her family and community.

At the age of 41, Shirley courageously pursued her dream of becoming a nurse, earning her degree just three years later. She dedicated 15 years of service as a registered nurse at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, where her compassion and skill touched countless lives.

Shirley’s love for nature was evident in her joy of planting trees, a symbol of growth, strength, and continuity—values she instilled in her family. In her memory, the family invites friends and loved ones to honor her by planting a tree, ensuring her passion for life and the beauty of nature continues to flourish.

Services and interment will be private, and a Celebration of Life service will be announced at a later date. The McPherson family deeply appreciates the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time.
